Bio Notes: J Kenneth Nesbitt was articled to Robert Stodart Lorimer in 1909, studying at Edinburgh College of Art and Heriot-Watt College. In 1913 he spent a month travelling in Germany before emigrating to Canada where he joined Nobbs & Hude of Montreal as assistant, taking a partial course in architecture at McGill University (History of Architecture, Structural Engineering and Structural Details). He undertook military service during the First World War and was awarded the MC. He returned to Canada thereafter, passing the qualifying exam in December 1922 at Toronto, and was admitted ARIBA in mid-1923, his proposers being Percy Erskine Nobbs, Ramsay Traquair and William Carless.
