Bio Notes: Robert Wemyss Ferguson was articled to George Mackie Watson on 9 October 1905, studying at Edinburgh College of Art and Heriot-Watt College. On completion of his apprenticeship he worked as assistant to James Bow Dunn before entering H M Office of Works in Edinburgh. During the First World War he spent a time as draughtsman under the South Central Scotland Munitions Committee. He passed the qualifying exam in June 1921 and was admitted ARIBA later that year, his proposers being James Cumming Wynnes, James Bow Dunn and John Wilson. At that time he was working as a lecturer in Building Construction at Heriot-Watt College.
