Bio Notes: Donald Andrew Macdonald was born on 5 June 1909, the son of Lachlan Macdonald, male nurse, and his wife Jemima Lawrie. He elected a student member of the RIBA in 1938 and was a member of the Edinburgh Architectural Association in 1939-40. At that date he was living at 6 Warrender Park Terrace. He does not appear to have joined the RIBA as it is not listed in the RIBA Directory of 1970. At that time he was senior partner in the practice John A W Grant.

He died on 16 April 1989, survived by his wife Marjory Jane Stevenson Howden Luke and at least one son (probably Donald Lachlan MacDonald).
