| Bio Notes: | William Shepherd Moyes was born on 24 April 1879 at 9 Glenton Terrace, Kelvinside, the son of James Moyes, and agent, and Mary Alexandrina Shepherd from Forfar. The Moyes family may also have originated from Forfarshire. It is not absolutely certain if Moyes was articled to Honeyman & Keppie from the very beginning, but he was there when he studied at Glasgow School of Art from 1897 to 1901 and was a draughtsman with Honeyman Keppie & Mackintosh until February 1907 when he left for Australia to plant coconuts as well as to practise architecture. |
