Bio Notes: Samuel Bunton who is not related to Sam Bunton, housing architect, was born on 16 October 1926, the son of John Bunton, insurance agent and his wife, Catherine McArthur. He was elected a student member of the RIBA in 1950. He was still a student in 1953. He was elected ARIBA in 1959.

Bunton worked for East Kilbride New Town Development Corporation from about 1960 and continued to do so, probably until the Corporation was wound up.

Bunton was married to Isabella Crawford O'Neil Dick. He died at Hairmyres Hospital, East Kilbride on 3 May 1993 from adult respiratory distress syndrome and peritonitis.
