|Bio Notes: ||No details are known of the background of E M S Pilkington, who entered into partnership with his former apprentice and assistant Laurence Kirkpatrick Hall in 1897; he does not appear in the British Architectural Library/RIBA 'Directory of British Architects 1834-1914'. Hall had been born in 1875 and articled to Pilkington for the years 1893-1895, completing his articles with William Douglas Caröe in 1895-96. He had then returned to Pilkington, first as improver, before being taken into partnership. |
The partnership, the precise name of which is uncertain, lasted until 1900, Hall continuing to practise alone thereafter. Nothing is known of Pilkington's subsequent career.
