Basic Biographical Details Name: | John George Gibbins | Designation: | | Born: | 1843 | Died: | 21 September 1932 | Bio Notes: | John George Gibbins was born in 1843 and was articled to Habershon & Pite from October 1861 for five years, remaining for a short period as assistant. He moved to the office of William Burges as a draughtsman in 1866 but left the following year to commence practice on his own account in Brighton, in partnership with Horatio Nelson Goulty. He continued to practise alone after Goulty's death in 1869, and was admitted FRIBA in 1888. He was Surveyor to the Brighton County Borough Mental Hospital from c.1903 for twenty-five years.
