Bio Notes: Charles Gibson Welsh was born on 9 February 1922, the son of Alexander Welsh, clerk of works, and his wife, Maria Gibson. He was a student member of the RIBA from 1942. He was elected ARIBA in 1951. He was taken into partnership by Alexander David Hislop at some point thereafter, probably not until 1960, although he may have worked as an assistant in the office before this. In the mid-1960s they were joined by Thomas G Humphreys, the practice title becoming Hislop Welsh & Humphries.

He died in Gartnavel Hospital on 21 March 1976, survived by his wife, Elizabeth Harvey Paterson.
