Bio Notes: Francis Edward Masey was born in 1858 or 1859, the son of Phillip Edward Masey. He was articled to his father from 1875 and assisted in the office of Alfred Waterhouse from 1878 to 1896. In the latter year he emigrated to South Africa where he commenced practice in Cape Town in the office of Sir Herbert Baker, who took him into partnership three years later. In 1906 their assistant Franklin Kaye Kendall was taken into partnership; the firm had offices in both South Africa and Rhodesia.

Masey appears to have been briefly in London in 1908 but he died in Salisbury, Rhodesia (Zimbabwe) on 3 September 1912.
