Bio Notes: John Henry was active as an architect in Edinburgh during the first quarter of the 19th century. He may have been a pupil of William Stark and certainly had some connection with him. After Stark's untimely death in 1813 Henry oversaw the execution of Stark's plans for the Signet Library in Edinburgh and he provided various drawings.

He taught at the Architectural Academy in High Street, Edinburgh from at least 1815 until about 1821.
