Bio Notes: William McQueen was born in Scotland and emigrated to Victoria c.1853, initially finding work as an overseer with the Victorian Department of Roads and Bridges. He moved to Queensland for health reasons and obtained a clerk of works post in the Colonial Architect's Office in February 1863. He was posted to Rockhampton to supervise a number of major projects but died of consumption on 16 October 1864.
