Bio Notes: John Drummond Murdoch studied architecture at Glasgow School of Art. He worked for HM Office of Works (later the Ministry of Public Buildings and Works) for between 30 and 40 years. He was an Associate of the Edinburgh Architectural Association by 1930 or 1931. His was awarded the MBE before 1939. In Post Office directories he gave his address as 7 Craiglockhart Avenue, suggesting he may have had a small private practice which he ran from home. He retired during the Second World War.

Outwith his professional life Murdoch was an excellent golfer in his earlier years. He was a member of Craiglockhart Church and took a close interest in its affairs.

Murdoch died on 20 January 1948, survived by his widow.
