Basic Biographical Details Name: | William Logan Taylor | Designation: | | Born: | | Died: | | Bio Notes: | William Logan Taylor studied at Robert Gordon's Technical College from August 1914 while at weekends and during his holidays he worked in the office of John Alexander Ogg Allan, presumably as an articled apprentice. He served in the armed forces during the First World War from November 1916 until March 1919. After demobilisation he returned to Allan's office, whilst still studying part-time at Robert Gordon's. He passed the qualifying exam and was elected ARIBA in late 1922, his proposers being J A O Allan, George Watt and John Wilson Walker. He appears to have remained in Allan's office up to that time. He was also an Associate of the Aberdeen Society of Architects.
By 1927 Taylor was practising in partnership with a former fellow apprentice in Allan's office, T Scott Sutherland. The address of T Scott Sutherland & Taylor was 9 The Square, Huntly, although Sutherland appears to have concurrently continued his own separate practice in Aberdeen. The partnership continued until at least 1933. Nothing is known of Taylor after that date. | Private and Business AddressesThe following private or business addresses are associated with this : | | Address | Type | Date from | Date to | Notes | | The Schoolhouse, Kintore, Aberdeenshire, Scotland | Private/business(?) | 1922 | | | | 86, Fonthill Road, Aberdeen, Scotland | Private(?) | 1925 * | | | | 9, The Square, Huntly, Aberdeenshire, Scotland | Business | Before 1927 * | After 1933 | | | 8, Beechgrove Gardens, Aberdeen, Scotland | Private | 1950 * | Early 1970s | |
