Bio Notes: James Higgins was born about 1858, the younger brother of Henry and the son of Henry Higgins, warehouseman, and his wife James Murdoch Cameron. He was probably articled to Boucher & Cousland and studied at Glasgow School of Art from 1883-84. Like Henry he worked from 8 Franklin Terrace, Glasgow. However he seems to have been practising on his own by 1886 when his office address was 95 Bath Street where he remained until at least 1890.
