Bio Notes: Franklin Kaye Kendall was born in Australia on 2 January 1869, trained in London in the offices of S J Jerrard (builders), Smith & Gale, and Sir William Emerson, and emigrated to South Africa in 1896, working in the offices of Sydney Stent, John Parker and, from 1899, Sir Herbert Baker & Masey. He was taken into partnership Baker and Masey in 1906, and later worked in partnership with James Morris and subsequently with L Marriott Earle. He died on 20 November 1948.
