Bio Notes: Benjamin Chaikin trained at the Architectural Association Schools and practised in London until the First World War. In 1920 he settled in Jerusalem where he continued to practise thereafter. He designed health centres, university and municipal buildings, post offices, libraries, hotels and institutes in Palestine, and specialised in quantity surveying and land valuation. He died on 23 April 1950; his RIBAJ obituary states that he was sixty-six years of age at the time of his death, but other sources give the year of his birth as 1881.
