Bio Notes:	Charles Hadfield was born in 1840, the son of Matthew Ellison Hadfield of Sheffield. He served his articles in his father's firm, and joined his father in partnership in 1865. In 1896 or 1897 he took his own son, Charles Matthew Ellison Hadfield, into partnership. He died in 1916.
