Basic Biographical Details Name: | Thomas Robertson Soutar | Designation: | | Born: | 1876 or 1877 | Died: | 14 February 1941 | Bio Notes: | Thomas Robertson Soutar was born in 1876 or 1877, the son of Alexander Soutar, farmer, and his wife Betsy Robertson. He practised in Forfar from about 1900. He formed a partnership with Hugh Gavin from at least 1902 until 1909. Gavin was based in Arbroath and Soutar in Forfar. He was responsible for the design of many public buildings in the town.
Soutar was interested in the affairs of the town and served on the Town Council from 1913 to 1919.
Soutar died at Fernbrae Nursing Home, Perth Road, Dundee on 14 February 1941.
