He gained automatic admittance as LRIBA on 27 March 1925 without the need for proposers, indicating that he was at least 30 years old and had been an assistant or assistant and principal for ten years, or a principal for seven years. His business address of 36 George Street, Perth is the same as that of William Erskine Thomson at that time, although it is not clear whether he was Thomson's assistant or partner. At some point the formal partnership of Erskine Thomson & Glass was formed.
Thomson was admitted FRIBA in 1932, his proposers being Donald Alexander Stewart and Robert Matthew Mitchell of Perth and William Salmond of Dundee. He served on the RIBA Council for a time and retired in 1954.
Glass continued the practice under its existing name until his death on 20 February 1980.
