| Bio Notes: | Henry Bowman was born in 1814 and practised in Manchester. In 1846 he took his managing clerk Joseph Stretch Crowther into partnership. Crowther had been born in 1820 and had been articled to Richard Tattersall from 1838 to 1842, subsequently working as managing clerk to Mr Whittaker of Bolton before entering Bowman's office. Bowman died on 14 May 1883, Crowther in March 1893. Crowther's will was registered in Scotland under non-Scottish Courts. |
