Bio Notes: Edgar Augustine Hawkins was born on 26 February 1863 and studied at the Royal Academy Schools in London. He was a pupil of John Young of London from 1880 to 1883 and worked as assistant to Robert Sawyer from 1884. He was Director of the Admiralty Works Department, London from at least 1912 until at least 1926. He died on 15 March 1941.
