Bio Notes: Leonidas Blanch (or Blanche) Buik was born at Craigie Haugh, Perth, on 18 June 1855, the third son of Robert Henry Buik, architect, Perth and his wife Sarah Robertson. He was presumably articled to his father who seems to have had rope-making interests. By 1894 he had commenced practice at 196 St Vincent Street, Glasgow. The practice remained there until 1914 but did not re-open after World War I, Buik becoming cargo-checker, probably a continuation of his war-time occupation.

Buik married twice: first to Mary Jane Reid, secondly to Williamina Reid. He died of old age and cardio vascular degeneration at 116 Waterloo Street on 26 April 1938, the death being reported by his son, Robert H Buik.

was practising in Glasgow in the early years of the twentieth century. He may have been a builder.
