Bio Notes: Alexander Hodge Livingstone was born on 10 October 1905. He served his apprenticeship in the Architectural Department of the Office of Public Works, Glasgow from 1921 to 1926, remaining as an assistant thereafter and studying at Glasgow School of Architecture, where he obtained his certificate in 1927. In 1928 he spent two weeks touring Paris and its environs; other holidays were spent visiting parts of Britain. He passed the qualifying exam in December 1931 and was admitted ARIBA early the following year, his proposers being Thomas Gilchrist Gilmour, William Brown Whitie and George Arthur Boswell.

He was elected FRIAS in 1953.

He died in 1983 or 1984.
