Bio Notes: Ruth Knox Jackson was born on 29 November 1903 and studied at Gray's School of Art, Aberdeen from 1922 until 1928, spending her three years' practical training in the office of T Scott Sutherland. She remained with Sutherland for a further year as assistant whilst completing her studies. In 1928 she passed the qualifying exam and subsequently moved to the office of Alexander Marshall Mackenzie & Son. She was admitted ARIBA at the end of that year, her proposers being Robert Gordon Wilson Junior, Alexander Marshall Mackenzie and James Brown Nicol. Prior to that time she had travelled in England, Scotland and France.

In the 1960s Ruth worked for Aberdeen City Architect's Department. She retired in 1968.

She died on 21 November 1990.
