Bio Notes: George Browne Post was born in 1837 in New York and commenced practice there in partnership with Charles D Gambrill in 1860. Their office was closed during the American Civil War, after which, in 1867, Post resumed practice alone. He became a noted designer of large city hotels and business and commercial buildings, and was made an Honorary Member of the Royal Institute of British Architects. He died on 28 November 1913.
