Basic Biographical Details Name: | William Ross Young | Designation: | | Born: | | Died: | | Bio Notes: | William Ross Young was born in Methven, Perthshire the son of a farmer. He trained with Andrew Heiton in Perth and subsquently studied engineering and surveying in the office of George Penrose Kennedy Young and assisted with 'important estate and town planning development work'. He was appointed burgh engineer of Falkirk at a period when the town was undergoing expansion. He was involved with slum clearance and construction work in this post.
He left Falkirk to take up a post as Burgh Surveyor of North Berwick where he was in 1911.
