Bio Notes: In 1911-1912 the eminent Edinburgh architect Hippolyte Jean Blanc took his son Frank Edward Belcombe Blanc (born 1890) into partnership. Frank continued the practice alone after his father's death in 1917. The practice was based in Edinburgh until the Second World War. Frank Blanc was still working in the 1950s, by which time he was based in Carlisle the practice name being retained. Hippolyte Blanc's name was still in the latterhead there albeit with a hair line through it.
