Bio Notes: John Webster was probably born about 1824. He practised as a joiner, house carpenter and house agent in Edinburgh. He may be the clerk of works listed in the Edinburgh Post office directory in 1879-80. He seems to have operated later in the firm G & J Webster with an address of 32 St Bernards Crescent in 1895-6 and 17 Raeburn Place in the later 1890s.
