Basic Biographical Details Name: | Oatley & Skinner | Designation: | | Born: | 1901(?) | Died: | 1902(?) | Bio Notes: | George Oatley was born in 1863 and entered the office of Henry Crisp in Bristol in 1876, being taken into partnershp a few years later as Crisp & Oatley. After the death of Crisp in 1896 he practised alone for a time. It appears that c.1901 he was working in partnership with W S Skinner; this arrangement may have been purely for the purpose of entering competitions, although both George Morrison Hay and Andrew Francis Stewart Bryden claim to have been employed by the practice of Oatley & Skinner at this time. Oatley's RIBA obituary, however, states that he entered into partnership with G C Lawrence in 1901, and that this partnership endured until Lawrence's death in 1936, whereafter he again practised alone until entering into partnership with Ralph H Brentnall in 1947. Oatley died on 12 May 1950. | Private and Business AddressesThe following private or business addresses are associated with this : | | Address | Type | Date from | Date to | Notes | | Bristol, Somerset, England(?) | Business | | | |
