Basic Biographical Details Name: | William Bell | Designation: | | Born: | 1881 | Died: | | Bio Notes: | William Bell was born in 1881 and articled to Barbour & Bowie in 1898, remaining for a year as assistant after completing his apprenticeship. He became assistant to Edwin Bush of Preston in 1903, moving to the office of George W Richardson of Wakefield later that year and to that of Frederick Ernest Pearce Edwards in 1904. He left Edwards in 1906 to work for G H Elliot of Bradford, returning to Edwards in 1908. He passed the qualifying exam in 1909 and in the same year joined the Dundee City Architects Office as assistant to James Thomson. He commenced independent practice in Wakefield in 1910.
