Bio Notes: Herbert Read trained in the office of Ernest George & Peto, with a year in the Office of Works, before commencing practice on his own account in London in 1888. He worked in partnership with Robert Falconer MacDonald from 1891 until the latter's death in 1913, continuing under the style of Read & MacDonald thereafter. He died on 6 August 1935.
