Bio Notes: George Lister Sutcliffe was born in 1864, the son of William Mitchell Sutcliffe, draper and grocer of Heptonstall in Yorkshire. He was articled to John Sutcliffe of Todmorden and Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire (unlikely to have been a relative) and remained as assistant until 1890 when he was taken into partnership by John Sutcliffe and James Henry Sutcliffe. He opened a London office in 1902, and the partnership was dissolved in 1906, after which he practised alone. He was architect for the firm Co-Tenants Ltd of 6 Bloomsbury Square c.1911. As architect for Co-partnership Tenants Ltd he was responsible for housing in Brentham, Hampstead, Stoke on Trent, Liverpool Wavertree and probably other Garden suburbs.

He died on 12 September 1915.
