Bio Notes: James Thomson was born on 27 August 1867 and articled to James Strang in Falkirk in 1882, remaining as an assistant until 1890. He moved to Edinburgh to widen his experience with Cousin & Ormiston in 1891 and remained with them until January 1898 when he commenced independent practice in Bo'ness. He was admitted LRIBA on 24 June 1912, proposed by James Bown Dunn and the Edinburgh Architectural Association: at that date his office was at 17 East Pier Street and his home address Rosemount Bo'ness, but by 1914 East Pier Street was the only address.
