Basic Biographical Details Name: | Frank Anderson Baillie Preston | Designation: | | Born: | | Died: | | Bio Notes: | Frank Anderson Baillie Preston was the son of Samuel Preston, Master of Works for Govan School Board, and his wife Anna Baillie. It is not known to whom he was first articled but he studied at Glasgow School of Architecture and in 1906 obtained a place in the office of H & D Barclay, with whom his father occasionally worked in association.
Preston was admitted LRIBA in 1925. He was also MTPI. At some point before 1950 he secured the post of General Manager of the Glenrothes Development Corporation. He remained with the Corporation until at least 1956-57. He had been elected FRSE and FSA(Scot) by that date. Preston was also president of the Executive Committee of the Scottish Section of the Town and Country Planning Association at Glagow in 1957.
