Bio Notes: David Shennan was born in 1880 and articled to John Alexander Macgregor of Castle Douglas in 1896. In 1899 he moved to Stirling as an assistant to McLuckie & Walker and in late 1903 or early 1904 to Perth as chief assistant to James Marshall. Two years later he emigrated to Canada, entering the office of Saxe & Archibald in Montreal as an assistant. He was promoted to chief assistant c.1907, and was still with the same firm when he was admitted LRIBA in the mass intake of 20 July 1911, his proposers being George Lister Thornton Sharp, later of Vancouver, Charles Joseph Thompson of London and Thomas McLaren of Montreal.
