Bio Notes: Peter Tawse started his working life as a contractor's clerk. In the 1890s he was a quarry manager. He started business in 1896 on his own account as a Public Works Contractor and carried out many large and important contracts in Aberdeen and surrounding districts. His son was William Tawse who continued the business. Henry (Harry) S Tawse, who also practised in Aberdeen as a civil engineer after the First World War, was a younger son of Peter Tawse.
