Bio Notes: John Robb was born in Glasgow in 1875, the first son of Thomas Robb, joiner, and his wife Sarah Wylie. Thomas and Sarah had been married at the North Church Paisley in December 1871, and it seems their families were well established there. They moved to Glasgow shortly after their marriage.

In 1901 John was still living in the family home at 4 Windsor Terrace, Glasgow, but his parents' links with Paisley enabled him to obtain a number of commissions there in the 1890s and 1900s. Like so many others he appears not to have survived the effects of the Finance Act of 1909.
