Bio Notes: Colin Rowntree was born on 9 August 1891 at 9 Queen Square, Strathbungo, the son of architect Fred Rowntree and his wife Mary Anna Gray and younger brother of Douglas Woodville Rowntree. He was articled to his father, remaining as assistant from 1910-14 and partner with his father and brother from 1919. His father retired in 1927.

He died in 1965.
