Basic Biographical Details

Name: William Patterson
Designation:
Born: Before 1895
Died:
Bio Notes: Little is known of the education and training of William Patterson except that he obtained automatic admittance as LRIBA on 7 March 1925, indicating that he was over 30 years old and had been engaged in architecture as assistant or assistant and principal for ten consecutive years, or as principal for seven. His address at that time was 7 West Relugas Road, Edinburgh, and he remained there until at least 1930. He appears to be the William Patterson that entered into partnership with James Broom. Together they designed and built huses speculatively and as a result were forced to resign from the RIAS. They were declared bankrupt in 1940.
