Basic Biographical Details Name: | North, Robin & Wilsdon | Designation: | | Born: | After 1915 | Died: | Before 1949 | Bio Notes: | Sydney Vincent North was born at Acton, London, in 1872, the son of the architect David Henry North and his wife Agnes. Articled to his father between 1889 and 1897 and later assistant to David Wilcock, he also attended classes at the Architectural Association, passing the RIBA qualifying examination in 1900.
North commenced independent practice in 1899, entering into partnership with Charles Collas Robin in 1903. The partnership enjoyed almost immediate success being awarded first premium in the Heywood Library competition from the 62 sets of drawings submitted.
