Bio Notes: Robert Dewar Nicol was born c.1882 and articled to James Graham Farley 1898-1901 and remained with him as an assistant 1901-03, attending Heriot-Watt College. In 1904 he emigrated to India as assistant to Mackintosh, Burn & Co. of Calcutta: he must have passed the qualifying exam before leaving but failed to obtain proposer and seconder as his admission as ARIBA on 10 June 1912 was, exceptionally, proposed by the Council. His address at that date was 41 Chowringhee Road, Calcutta. He died in 1916.
