Bio Notes: William L Menzies was active in Oban between 1880 and the first decade of the twentieth century. No details of him are yet known. He is probably the joiner, born 1837 who lived at Hawthornbank in Oban. His son, William Laird Menzies,born 1872, would seem to have emigrated to the United States, finishing in California in the mid-1920s and being elected FRIBA in 1925.
