Bio Notes: William Larner Sugden was born in Leek, Staffordshire on 5 October 1850, the son of William Sugden. He was educated at Leek Grammar School and was articled to his father in 1868, commencing practice in partnership with him in 1881. He continued practice alone after his father's death in 1892, and was admitted FRIBA on 13 June that year, his proposers being Charles Lynam, Maurice Bingham Adams and Samuel Flint Clarkson. He was appointed Surveyor to Stoke-on-Trent District Council in 1895. He died on 18 June 1901.
