Basic Biographical Details Name: | René Sergent | Designation: | | Born: | 1865 | Died: | 1927 | Bio Notes: | René Sergent was born in 1865 and trained at the Ecole spéciale d'architecture in Paris under Emile Trélat and Thierry-Ladrange. On completing his studies he entered the office of Ernest Sanson where he remained for fifteen years, whilst undertaking private study of eighteenth-century architecture and ornament including that of the Adam brothers. He commenced practice on his own account in 1902, working for aristocratic and bourgeois clients. He became known for restoration as well as construction, and his work consisted largely of hotels and commercial premises.
