Basic Biographical Details

Name: Mackenzie & McMillan
Designation:
Born: 1878
Died: 1883
Bio Notes: Duncan McMillan was born in Inverness in 1840 and articled to Alexander Ross from c.1855 until 1861 when he went to Aberdeen to work for James Matthews, the connection probably being made through his Matthews & Lawrie Inverness office.

McMillan commenced practice on his own account in Aberdeen in 1868. In 1878 he formed a partnership with John Russell Mackenzie as Mackenzie & McMillan but this was dissolved in 1883 because of Mackenzie's bankruptcy. McMillan continued in practice alone for a time before taking his son, John Ross McMillan, into partnership under the style of D & J R McMillan.
