Bio Notes: William Kerr was born c.1862 in Partick in Glasgow and articled to Allan Stevenson in Ayr c.1878, remaining as assistant until commencing practice on his own account c.1893. He 'was latterly entrusted by the Ayr School Board with the carrying out of certain extensions of their schools'. He died of an apoplectic seizure after an evening of gardening at his home in Bruce Crescent on 1 July 1905 leaving a widow, son and a daughter.
