Basic Biographical Details Name: | John Proudfoot Goodsir | Designation: | | Born: | 1864 | Died: | | Bio Notes: | John Proudfoot Goodsir was born in 1864 and was articled to John Bryce of D & J Bryce in 1879, remaining as junior assistant for seven months after completing his apprenticeship, and attending Heriot-Watt College, Edinburgh Science and Art School and the classes of the Edinburgh Architectural Association. In 1885 he joined Buchanan & Bennett as assistant, and in 1889 moved to Falkirk to work for A & W Black. He commenced practice on his own account there in 1896. He was admitted LRIBA in the mass intake of 20 July 1911, his proposers being Hippolyte Jean Blanc, James Thomas Baillie and John Watson, all of Edinburgh. By 1914 he had removed to London and was at 23 Old Queen Street, Westminster.
