Bio Notes: Leading Philadelphia architect Samuel Sloan (born 1815) took his former assistant Charles Balderston (born 1852) and Isaiah Young into partnership in 1876 as Sloan, Balderston & Young. Young left after a year, the practice title changing to Sloan & Balderston. The partnership was dissolved in 1883. Sloan died a year later, Balderston in 1952.
