Died: 21 April 1931
Bio Notes: John Leeming, son of Alfred Leeming of Halifax was born in 1849 and articled to Charles Frederick Luke Horsfall in 1865. At the end of his apprenticeship John was assistant to Adams & Kelly in Leeds, Owen Edwards, and Thomas William Helliwell in Brighouse between 1869 and 1872. In the latter year he went into independent practice with his brother Joseph and from 1877 onwards they were notably successful in local and national competitions, beginning with the Heath Grammar School and Board School in Halifax.

Despite having a London office and being responsible for the Admiralty the Leemings themselves did not seek membership of the RIBA until 1901. John was admitted FRIBA on 18 February 1901, his proposers being Sir John Taylor, John McKean Brydon and Sir Aston Webb.

He died 21 April 1931.
