Bio Notes: William Henderson was the elder brother of James Henderson and was educated at Marischal College, Aberdeen. Their father died in 1826, obliging James to discontinue his studies. For a time James was his assistant and briefly his partner. The partnership had been dissolved by the time of the Disruption in 1843, whereafter they shared the patronage of the newly-founded Free Church between them, William designing approximately one hundred churches and manses, not all of which have been identified.
